Read

Hotel Stadthaus Arnstadt is a place to switch off. The rooms are designed in such a way that people enjoy spending time in them. They have a small library with books on regional history, art history, architecture, fiction and crime novels, as well as a selection of magazines. The hotel is TV-free zone, but everywhere you can get on the Internet.

Art

Our house is also a gallery of contemporary artists, each room is equipped with at least one original. Here a “Composition in Red” by the Munich artist Klaus Meyer-Milberg (1939-1996) from 1974.

Establishment

No two rooms are alike. The furniture comes from a wide variety of eras.

Breakfast

At your breakfast table you will find: freshly ground coffee from the roasting house Bohnenstolz in the house or tea from the Teekampagne, the unique apple-pear juice from the meadow orchard of Obsthof Drechsle, butter, fresh organic milk, homemade jams and vegetables.

The organic eggs – boiled, scrambled (recommendation: with fresh mint!) or fried – we always prepare fresh on request.

Ham and sausage, Italian and French cheese, bread, cereals and freshly made fruit salad can be found at the buffet.

Jams

All our jams we make ourselves. There is elderflower-apple jelly, strawberry-grapefruit, rhubarb or sour cherry jam and from autumn fresh the quince jam from our pear quince.

Because we also portion the butter freshly and fill the fresh milk into jugs, everything is unpackaged on the tables.

Floors

The beautiful old plank floors were mostly salvaged from various demolition properties. In two of the rooms the floor could still be preserved as found.

Baths

The bathrooms are simply tiled with white tiles. On the first floor, in addition to wall heating, they have underfloor heating, old cotto tiles provide character. One suite and one of the apartments have a bathtub. Almost all bathrooms have windows or a French balcony. Here, too, the historic substance was preserved as far as possible.

Beds

Sleeping comfort is provided by modern box spring beds, quality pillows and oversized blankets 155×200 cm. In some rooms we offer beds with a length of 210 cm.

Written exam

All rooms offer a table and space to work. But they also find peace in our plank room.

Sustainability and health

We have avoided modern construction chemicals as far as possible throughout the house. The old floorboards are not glued, but screwed to a subfloor with impact sound insulation. We basically use traditional lime and clay plasters as well as lime and linseed oil paints. The house is allergy friendly, please contact us if necessary.

Our rooms are all without TV set. Free wifi is well available throughout the house.

Winter

Our rooms and the plank parlor are cozy in winter due to the radiant heat of the wall heating and the good lighting and invite you to stay in bad weather.

Loggia

The portico is the loggia of one of the suites on the 1st floor. Facing west, it offers the evening sun.

Family

One of our suites has two bedrooms for four people. Our second suite is also well suited for families.

A comment, the original on urlaubsarchitektur.de:

“This was not my first time at the HOTEL STADTHAUS ARNSTADT and certainly not the last. I was looking for an inspiring place to work. I felt very comfortable in the sensitively renovated and the congenial atmosphere that the hosts have created here. The food was simply delicious! I not only worked here, but also refueled. Arnstadt is a lovely small town that offers tranquility but also some diversion.”
