Welcome to the Essentials

Hotel Stadthaus Arnstadt is a unique place for relaxation. The half-timbered house from 1582 and the factory from 1903 are quietly located in the historic center of the city of Arnstadt and were renovated over eight years after a long period of decay.

In doing so, we respected the existing building stock and used historic building materials. As our guest, you will experience a Gothic vaulted cellar, Renaissance half-timbering, Baroque stucco from Italy and timeless adobe construction. We have six rooms and two apartments. For breakfast there are homemade jams and French raw milk cheese.

If you want to go hiking or biking, listen to the music of Joh:Seb:Bach at original locations or get to know the Thuringian residence culture: We are happy to give hints!

From Early Music to Early Industry

The Stadthaus Arnstadt project opened in 2013 and today houses not only the hotel but also the BOHNENSTOLZ coffee roastery, run by Wolfgang Gaube, as well as conference rooms and two spacious vacation apartments.

The ensemble is located by the traffic-calmed parish courtyard, across from a 170-year-old oak tree and a 13th-century Franciscan church.

The church was once the play town of the Bach family of musicians, especially Heinrich Bach. The buildings of the Stadthaus Arnstadt were the glove factory Julius Möller Arnstadt for the last 120 years until the reunification in 1990.

As our guest, you look out onto this square – or the beautiful courtyard of the ensemble.
